April 2026 Lunch and Learn – Metro Nashville Police Lt. Mike Hotz
Samaritan Recovery Community welcomed an overflow audience to hear Metro Nashville Police Lieutenant Mike Hotz, who leads the MNPD’s Overdose Unit, talk about the team’s work helping Nashvillians dealing with drug addictions on the city’s streets and finding ways for them to begin recovery. He shared stats on the reduction in overdose deaths since 2019, but called for more resources and work to battle the flow of increasingly sophisticated, addictive, available, and dangerous substances. Two of those resources are a special Opioid Emergency Box and an Emergency Kit, both of which the department provides free. An enlightening discussion from an important partner of Samaritan. Thank you for all you and your team do, Lt. Hotz.
Lt. Hotz and Dr. Mark Lasko, CEO of Samaritan, did a podcast after the talk. Catch it wherever you listen to podcasts or on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@SamaritanRecoveryCommunity
